Meanwhile in Iowa . . .
One woman discovered she’s really bad at lying!
Rachel Thornburg (20) of Clinton, Iowa called 911 and reported her car stolen.
Turns out, her ride, a 1998 Buick Century, was currently involved in a high-speed police chase.
Authorities had clocked Rachel’s car being driven at high speeds, but when an officer tried to pull the vehicle over, the driver took off, going even faster.
Police were finally able to bring Rachel’s car to a stop with the use of road spikes to pop the tires . . . and that’s when they placed the driver under arrest.
Who was the driver in this high speed chase with a stolen vehicle?
Why, it was Rachel, of course!
Her car was never actually stolen, but when she got caught speeding, Rachel thought she could report a car theft and then police would think it was someone else driving, and in turn evade authorities.
The plan failed Rachel and now she’s facing charges on eluding, driving on a suspended license, reckless driving, and speeding.
No word on if she’ll also be hit with charges for filing a false police report and misusing 911, but let’s just assume the answer is “most likely.”
