Meanwhile in Alabama . . .
Amber Lewis (33) had some suspicions her husband was having an affair, so she decided to set up a ruse to spook her husband back into her arms and her arms only — by calling 911 and reporting a fake burglary, hoping the police would catch him in the act with his mistress.
The Millbrook police department responded to the call, only to learn the truth, that everything was fake, and Amber was now taking up their valuable time.
Upon entering the home, police were met with a very strong . . . ummm . . . herbal scent that is not legal in the fine state of Alabama.
Not only did Amber misuse the 911 emergency services, authorities found drugs in the couple’s home (including their 5 year old daughter’s bedroom); so they added some additional charges, like second-degree possession of drugs and chemical endangerment of a child.
Not sure how a fake burglary call to 911 was going to teach her maybe-cheating-husband a lesson, but here’s the thing . . . While this whole fake-police-report was going on, firefighters were responding to a fire at a local school.
In a statement from the police department, authorities said, “During that time our ability to respond to calls for service and assist our fire department was severely handicapped because of this utterly ridiculous situation.”
Continuing, “This case is a perfect example of two individuals having marital issues and dragging law enforcement into their personal issues in an attempt to cause harm or embarrassment to each other. Our officers were absolutely furious, and they should be. Our resources were compromised and lives were unnecessarily placed in jeopardy. That is never acceptable.”
