Darwin Olympics: Man Uses E-Scooter in Bank Robbery

Last month in Austin, TX., 19 year old Luca Mangiarano robbed a bank and then used a Jump e-scooters to get away.

Here’s the thing — to use one of those scooters, you need an account linked to your phone and credit card. We feel like every Gen Z’er should already know that.

Well, they sure don’t call it common sense because it’s common.

Authorities subpoenaed Uber, the parent company of Jump Scooters, for data about the ride.  Uber obliged and sent along the robber’s info – name, phone number, email address and credit card information.

With all the info for Luca, it wasn’t difficult tracking him down and placing him under arrest.
