Darwin Olympics: Guy Wades in River of Bears for Selfie

Meanwhile in Alaska…

Let’s jump to the part where we say it is NEVER OK to risk being mauled to death to get that photo op.  Alright?

This guy was visiting Katmai National Park and Preserve in Alaska when he ventured into a restricted area where five BEARS were eating salmon in a river.  He saw the bears, not giving much thought to the fact they were hungry and currently feeding, and waded into the the river to snag a selfie with the bears.

Good news, he was not mauled to death.  Bad news, for him at least, is that the park’s Bear Cam caught him and he’s now facing charges for going into the restricted area.
