Darwin Olympics: Guy Tries to Avoid DUI by Stealing Electric Shopping Scooter

Meanwhile in Louisiana . . .

One guy thought he was making a rational decision to not drink and drive . . . but, his follow through wasn’t so great.

Brice Williams (32) was already drunk, but wanted to keep getting his drinking on and decided to hit up a bar around midnight.

While he was wise enough not to get behind the wheel of his car, dude wasn’t wise enough to NOT steal an electric shopping scooter from Walmart.

Yup!

Brice showed up to the bar driving his stolen mini-ride.

When police confronted him, Brice admitted he’d snagged the scooter from the store not too far down the road, but he only did it because he was worried he’d get a DUI if he drove his own car.

Clearly, stealing the shopping scooter was a better option . . . except, it wasn’t.

Brice was charged with unauthorized use of a moveable — which is a felony and has a maximum sentence of up to $5,000 and two years in prison.

Oh, and he was still technically driving something, so a DUI charge hasn’t been ruled out yet.
