In what may be the crime world’s slowest chase, a guy was chased down by a citizen on a riding mower!
A two-man team, comprised of Debra Grebas and Deandre France, tried to cash a fraudulent check in Lincoln, NE with a stolen ID.
During police pursuit, Debra crashed the car she was driving, and Deandre attempted to take off on foot.
An innocent bystander named John Massie noticed what was happening and tried chasing Deandre down himself, on a riding mower!
Police footage from a helicopter shows the slow-speed chase, as the lawnmower moves down the sidewalk (at about 8/mph), then follows Deandre behind a house.
Cue the police cruiser pulling up, just as John walks up, holding Deandre by the arm.
Debra was arrested and charged with forgery, and slo-mo Deandre is facing charges for criminal possession of a transaction device.
