Meanwhile in Australia . . .
A 48 year old was having some seriously rough, and persistent, headaches and sinus problems, so he went to an Ears, Nose & Throat (ENT) specialist to see what was going on.
Sure enough, the doctors at the Westmead Hospital in Sydney, New South Wales were able to figure out the issue.
There was a “firm gray mass” in the guy’s nasal cavity.
Medical staff performed a procedure to remove the mass, then examined it . . . coming to the conclusion of identifying said mass as a “rubber capsule containing degenerate vegetable/plant matter.”
In other words . . . Dude shoved a balloon full of pot up his nose and forgot about it.
Apparently (or allegedly), this guy was part of a drug smuggling escapade almost 2 decades earlier, and the drug-filled balloon has been up there ever since.
According to the guy, eighteen years ago, his girlfriend gave him the drug filled balloon during a prison visit, and — while he did manage to smuggle the contraband past prison guards, he couldn’t get the balloon back out.
While trying to get it out, dude wound up shoving it further up his nose and figured he’d accidentally swallowed the package eventually.
Nope . . . the drug-balloon was just chillin’ up in his sinus cavity since 2001-ish.
So there’s that.
