Darwin Olympics: Fugitive Would Rather Go Back to Prison than Deal with Tourists

Meanwhile on Planet Earth . . .

There’s a 64 year old guy from Salzburg, Austria who became a fugitive after breaking out of prison over ten years ago.

Dude relocated and went into hiding on Tenerife, the largest of Spain’s Canary Islands off the west coast of Africa — a location known for some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

Being such a beautiful destination, the island brings in A LOT of tourists . . .

Apparently too many tourists for fugitive-dude, because he packed up his belongings in two suitcases and went back to Salzburg, walked up to a police officer and revealed he was a fugitive.

Turns out, fugitive-dude would rather go back to jail than spend another day dealing with the tourists and that “Tenerife is not as nice as it used to be and he’d lived there long enough.”

So, he was arrested and taken back to prison.
