Darwin Olympics: First Date Turns Into Bank Robbery

Dating is hard y’all!

Meanwhile in Massachusetts . . .

You may think you’ve been on the world’s worst first day, but chances are never been on a bad first date quite like Shelby Sampson’s worst first date.

A few years ago, Shelby (then 40) was matched with a guy named Christopher Castillo (33) on a dating app.

Shelby was in Attleboro Falls, Massachusetts and Christopher lived about 30 minutes away . . . and he asked her to come pick him up for the date from his parents’ house.

So, Shelby ventured thirty minutes away and scooped up her date . . . she drove, he drank wine in her front passenger seat. (Umm totally casual *read sarcasm*)

Before they even had a chance to get on with the rest of the date, Christopher asked Shelby if she would stop at a bank, so she did.

Like, how was Shelby supposed to know dude’s intentions at the bank were to ROB it?!

A few minutes later, Christopher comes running out of the bank holding a gun and $1,000 cash and told her to DRIVE!

She panicked — understandably so . . . dude had a gun, after all — and drove away with him in the passenger seat. A police car pulled up behind them so Shelby pulled over immediately.

Dude was arrested, and was just sentenced earlier this week to five years in prison.

Of course, Shelby was able to avoid any charges or jail time because she truly was innocent to the whole thing.

So there you go . . . your bad first date isn’t looking too shabby anymore, is it?
