Darwin Olympics: Fake Wedding Officiant Steals Bridesmaids’ Credit Cards

Meanwhile in Massachusetts . . .

Ashley Veilleux and David Mellen got married last month in a non-denominational wedding, and hired justice of the peace James Stern to officiate.

However, when the newlyweds went to pick up their marriage license, they were heartbroken and stunned to learn that their marriage didn’t exist.

James Stern was a FAKE!!  He hadn’t only scammed the newlyweds, but he also broke into the bridal suite and stole credit cards from some of the bridesmaids.

Dude was found and arrested for impersonating a justice of the peace AND larceny. Turns out, this wasn’t his first venture in the world of scamming.  James Stern, the 39 year old phony has quite the wrap-sheet, dating all the way back to when he was just a teen.

Ashley and David are going to redo their ceremony with a much smaller guest list this time, but their actual-yet-unofficial wedding photos are now pretty tainted with the fake officiant in a lot of them.

“This man is forever in our photos and videos,” says Ashley.
