Meanwhile in Florida . . .
Police accused two guys of stealing over $1,000 worth of merchandise from a DeSoto Country Walmart and posted their mugshots on the department’s Facebook page.
Authorities were able to locate and arrest one of the dudes, Michael Meacham, but needed the public’s help to get the other guy, Cody Pierce.
The FB post asked the public for help and encouraged them to contact authorities if they had any tips about Cody’s whereabouts.
Welp . . . Cody saw that Facebook post and reached out to authorities by posting his own comment.
Turns out, Cody was claiming “It wasn’t me” and asked police to remove his photo.
Cody’s comment stated (in the world’s longest run on and super grammatically incorrect sentence ever), “Ummm first off I have money and it’s all legit and it’s all accounted for I do not need to steal and I have a lawyer just for situations like this who is very hungry for a case of slander and defamation of character especially every thing me and my father have done for this area . . . now I would appreciate you removing my picture nor was in any part or connection.”
*Stay in school kids*
Of course the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office responded to Cody’s comment on the FB post and let him know they would gladly oblige his request of removing the mugshot and replace it with a booking photo, should he decide to swing by their office.
While Cody didn’t take them up on their offer to go into the sheriff’s office, he did manage to get busted in Sarasota County,
The updated post for the sheriff’s office now reads, “***UPDATE*** Cody ‘It wasn’t me’ Pierce was arrested today in Sarasota County on our DeSoto County warrant. As promised, we are now replacing Cody’s previous photo with his BOOKING PHOTO!”
Ask and you shall receive, Cody . . . ask and you shall receive.
