Darwin Olympics: Dude Blowing Up Pumpkins with Fireworks Causes Massive Fire

Meanwhile in Colorado . . .

If you think fireworks are only for game opening celebrations, wins, touchdowns, home runs, 4th of July or New Year’s celebrations . . . well, you might want to inform this guy.

Some dude had a total “hold my beer” moment on his own when he decided to try blowing up a pumpkin with a firework . . . because, obviously.

Unfortunately, fireworks can’t be as well contained as this dude thought, and wound up starting a serious fire!

Like, $70,000 worth of damage, serious.

Fire fighters on the scene said the dire started on the 9000 block of North Vance Street, and neighbors in the area said they just heard this big boom and then saw a blaze of “bright orange” light up the sky.

Residents of the Alvista Falls Apartments saw flames racing towards their building and knew they needed to get out.

“Someone in the apartment complex was sprinting up and down the hallway knocking on everyone’s door to get out,” one tenant said.

Another rushed outside with his two sons, only to find flames had basically swallowed his SUV.

Neighbors reported seeing a man in a pumpkin field using fireworks to blow some up, and authorities have interviews a person of interest in connection to the fire, though no official arrests have been made.

This happened on Sunday night, and police needed the daylight hours to continue their investigation. They plan to deliver charges later this week.
