Darwin Olympics: Car Thief Can’t Outrun Officer in Tap Shoes

Meanwhile in Connecticut . . .

Some dude named Dante Flowers (25) was spotted driving a stolen car in Hartford late last week, and police chased him down!

They even used their squad cars (officers call them “shops,” right?) to block Dante in, so he exited the stolen whip and took off on foot.

Dante didn’t get very far when it appeared he just couldn’t outrun Jay Montrose, a police officer who happened to be wearing tap shoes while he ran Dante down.

The foot-chase only lasted two blocks before Dante was caught and arrested. He’s now looking at charges for first degree larceny, interfering with police, and driving on a suspended license.  Oh, and authorities also found some crack in the car and added some drug charges to the list.

Not sure if Jay was off duty or not and why the choice of footwear . . . but, Jay is a detective-in-training which means he has to wear a tie to work, and Jay prefers the bow tie look.

And he wore it well!

Take a look . . .
