I have always been fascinated by the weather. I remember even as a young kid, being amazed at everything from sunsets to thunderstorms and wondering how it all worked. Well as I got older and learning about jet streams and how the winds worked and how all that affected the weather I started wondering about clouds and asking questions like were the clouds that were overhead, were they the same clouds that were over other parts of the country or were they new clouds. Then came the first huge African dust storm that I remember and how with the winds blowing just right we were going to see a haze from that. That blew me away. Now, fast forward to right now, for us, we have haze from the wildfires out west. It made for a pretty spectacular sunrise and sunset yesterday. I saw so many posting on social media and this pic is on I walked out and snapped during our morning show. I believe God created this earth and we as humans have dominion over it. So that also means we have a responsibility to take care of it. I’m all in favor of hunting, fishing, building, and burning when needed. But then sometimes we get huge wildfires that burn up thousands if not millions of acres, threatens homes, takes lives and displaces wildlife. I’m no forester but I have heard some really smart people say if we would do smaller burns more often these mega fires would be less likely to happen. That makes sense to me, and while we have had some beauty from those fires with our sunrise and sunsets, it does remind me how what is happening on one side of this ball, affects the other.
