When will Santa arrive in Clarksville? NORAD can help!

This is a great tool to figure out what time you need to go to sleep on Christmas Eve, waiting for Santa’s arrival!

I know it can be exciting wondering what Santa is going to leave you this year! Wondering if you are on the naughty or nice list!

As Santa Claus prepares to take flight in his sleigh, a team at the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) work all hours of the night to make sure that he is protected, on track and kids can see how fast Santa works.

Lieutenant Colonel Drew Frey of the U.S. Air Force is one of those people who works all through the night to keep Santa and his reindeer on the radar.  Col. Frey will also be taking calls from kids wondering when Santa will be at their house. According to Frey, it’s not a job for the faint of heart!  NORAD has been dedicated to tracking Santa since 1955.

Since then, the command center has put in place an entire workforce of 500 people on Christmas Eve to answer calls from children tracking Santa.  Many of these calls have to do with what time they should head to bed before Santa visits. One thing to keep in mind, according to NORAD, the route Santa takes is ultimately up to the man in red himself and his elves. The route depends on logistics and load size!

Once Christmas Day comes around, the work isn’t over for the team at NORAD who continues to provide defense over all of North America. Santa, however, returns home for some vacation time.

You can track Santa HERE.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
