What Side of the Bed Do You Sleep On

Do you have a specific side of the bed you HAVE to sleep on?  What about when you’re in the bed alone; still have a specific side?

According to a new survey asking 2,000 Americans why they need/want to sleep on their specific side of the bed, some of the top answers (and participants were allowed to give more than one answer:

It’s easier getting in and out of bed on that side, or it’s closer to the door (40%).

My partner prefers the other side, so I have my side by default (31%).

Better access to the nightstand (31%).

The chosen side has a better view of the TV (25%).

I like sleeping against the wall (18%).

The study also put some more scientific research behind it and looked at the different personality traits of right and left side sleepers.

They found people who sleep on the left side of the bed tend to like beer more than wine . . . listen to oldies music . . . prefer dramatic films . . . and lean left politically.

Alternatively, right side sleepers were found to be more likely to be wine drinkers . . . listen to rock music . . . prefer action movies . . . and lean right politically.

*BTW, the study looked at the “left” side of the bed as the side on your left when you’re standing at the foot of the bed, not lying down.
