We Make Bad Decisions When We’re Hungry

Struggling to make a decision?  Go eat something!

For real . . . a new study out of Scotland found we tend to make bad decisions on an empty stomach.

The researchers’ findings included that when folks get hungry, we become more impatient.

Umm, obviously! Do y’all not know what “hangry” means in Scotland?

Plus, when we’re hungry and impatient, we wind up not using our common sense and make “dumber, more impulsive” decisions.

More from the researchers in their words, “People generally know when they are hungry they shouldn’t really go food shopping because they are more likely to make choices that are either unhealthy or indulgent.”

They continue, “Our research suggests this could have an impact on other kinds of decisions as well.”

Well, no crap, Captain.  We could have told you that. Hanger is real. Being Hangry is REALLY REAL!

We are actually convinced that most spats in relationships (marital or not) are ignited by the not so simple question of, “What are we eating for dinner?”  Sure, it seems harmless, but when it is a conversation between two extremely hungry people that are straight up hangry, it is best to just hush up, jump in the car and drive to the closest food location and just get something.

Maybe share a quick snack so you can become human beings again, then rationally and calmly figure out the food game plan.

Oh, and, is it just us or does it seem like there is always one person in every relationship that gets way more hangry than the other person?

Legit, what is that about?  Can we take turns?

It’s like, whomever can control their hanger better needs to just feed the both of you so you can move on with your loving lives together.

Anyway . . . all that to say, YES we totally agree with this study.

Now excuse us while we go eat something.
