WATCH: 7 Year Old Put In Handcuffs

A 7 year old boy is handcuffed after assaulting a teacher, and his parents are blaming the school.

The child was playing with his food in the cafeteria, when he was reprimanded. He then lashed out, even punching a teacher multiple times. While trying to restrain him, the boy kept throwing punches and kicking.

A spokeswoman for public schools states the child, “began behaving erratically and hit a teacher. Due Due to a great concern for the student and to ensure his safety and that of those around him, he was restricted according to the Baker Act and transported to the hospital to be evaluated.”

The first grader was detained under the Florida Mental Health Act, being based on the criteria that indicated he could pose a danger to himself or his peers.

This is the second time in less than three months that the school contacted the police for the 7 year old’s “behavioral problems.”

The child’s parents say their son does not have mental health problems or anger issues, and that the school acted inappropriately.
