University Of Kentucky Coach Keeps Promise, Has Coal Miner At Game

Back on October 25th, Michael McGuire (West Virginia Coal Miner) went viral for showing up to a Kentucky exhibition game with his family still in his uniform and covered in coal dust.

The photo of Michael and his family not only went viral, but it caught the attention of the University of Kentucky’s coach, John Calipari.  Coach John was raised in a coal miner house, so he understood the sacrifice that Michael goes through on a weekly basis. Coach John wanted to do something special for Michael and his family, so he had them out at their game the other evening, according to New York Post.

Not only did Michael, his son, daughter and wife get a great experience at the game, they got to sit behind the bench, meet Coach John Calipari and Michael was the “Y” in the team cheer/dance.
