The Way so Many People Leaned in to Help Those Affected by the Tornadoes Has Been Incredible

Through devastation, is the opportunity for people to come together to help each other out. The March 2020 tornadoes brought people together in such a way that truly proved we are all in this together . . . none of us are alone.

Our neighbors in Nashville experienced complete devastation in certain areas, but volunteers leaned in to help without a second thought.

Restaurants and businesses damaged from the twister had to be closed — some were completely demolished, while others merely lost power or experienced broken windows — but other businesses, that didn’t experience any damage or power outage, chose to close for the week to help their friends. There were no competitors last week . . . only friends.

Restaurants and food trucks closed to the public so they good make food to take and feed the volunteers.

Utility and maintenance companies brought in from other states to help in relief efforts were sent home, or time on the job was cut short because of the quick acting volunteers who leaned in with immediate help.

We saw our friends right here in Beaver Country spend the weekend in Music City with rented chainsaws to help cleanup efforts, making food to provide sustenance for those helping, and more.

THIS THURSDAY, we will be at Walmart on Wilma Rudolph Blvd in Clarksville with other members from our sister stations – Q108 . . . Z975 . . . Rewind — and Channel 2 WKRN to collect items for those affected by the recent tornadoes. Supplies will go to the Salvation Army of Nashville and the Community Resource Center to help our neighbors.

We will have team members out there from 6 AM to 6 PM. Please come by and drop off any of the following items:

  • Baby and toddler clothing
  • Flashlights
  • Baby Formula and baby food
  • Underwear and bras
  • Batteries
  • Personal hygiene itemsĀ  (shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, soap, lotion, etc.)
  • Gloves
  • Box cutters
  • Trash bags and trash cans
  • Bleach

We’ll be doing to Beaver Morning Show with Fletch & Jai live from Walmart — 6 AM to 10 AM — while we collect items. Please come out and say hi, drop off the needed items, and support and love on our neighbors to the east of us.
