ICYMI, the official trailer for the origin story of the Batman universe baddy, The Joker, dropped this week!!
Just when we thought Heath Ledger ruined it for all future Jokers with his brilliant performance as the forced-smile villain with the haunting cackle of a laugh, Joaquin Phoenix steps up to the plate!
If the trailer is any indication on just how astounding “Joker” will be, Phoenix will undoubtedly be noticed during Oscar season.
Here’s the rundown . . .
“Joker” is set in 1981 Gotham City, and tells the story of Arthur Fleck, AKA Joker.
Fleck is a failing comedian whose downward spiral is initiated by a talk show host, played by Robert De Niro, totally dissing him on TV.
“Joke” hits theaters October 4 . . . so we all know where I’ll be that day . . .
