The Number One Answer Parents Say Their Kids Behave Badly is WHAT?!?

We are feeling all types of ways about this one, and agreeing with this list below is NOT one of them . . .

About 2,000 parents answered a survey about common ways kids behave badly, and the Top Ten answers released don’t make any sense to us!

Granted, Fletch’s daughter isn’t quite two years old yet . . . and the only kid I (Jai) have is my dogter Daisy . . . but tell us we’re not wrong here.

First, the Top Ten answers:

1.  Jumping on the beds, 70%.

2.  Throwing things or playing catch indoors, 63%.

3.  Slamming doors, 56%.

4.  Drawing on the walls or floor, 52%.

5.  Using screens when they’re not supposed to, 50%.

6.  Eating something they shouldn’t, 49%.

7.  Hiding stuff under the bed instead of cleaning, 47%.

8.  Physically fighting with their siblings, 46%.

9.  Blaming their sibling for something they did, 45%.

10.  Calling their sibling names, 45%.

HOW ARE BEING RUDE . . . DISRESPECTFUL . . . TALKING BACK NOT LISTED AT THE TOP?!?

It sounds to use like this survey polled the kind of parents who yell at their kids for simply being kids.

“Jumping on the bed” is the #1 answer?!?!!!

Who are these parents and where did they learn how to parent?

Let’s break it down . . .

1.  Jumping on the beds, 70%. (It’s a kid being a kid. If you tell your kid to stop jumping on the bed and they defy you, then that defiance is the instance of acting badly.)

2.  Throwing things or playing catch indoors, 63%. (Throwing things at someone as a form of aggression is one thing and not OK . . . But, simply playing catch indoors? C’mon, man! See the thought above regarding defiance.)

3.  Slamming doors, 56%. (Acting out, sure. Not really a sign of acting badly unless it circles back to the defiance issue.)

4.  Drawing on the walls or floor, 52%. (Parents, if this is happening, you need to get on top of it. Kids of a certain age don’t know any better, it doesn’t mean their being bad.)

5.  Using screens when they’re not supposed to, 50%. (Rolls eyes)

6.  Eating something they shouldn’t, 49%. (Gets a headache from rolling eyes so hard.)

7.  Hiding stuff under the bed instead of cleaning, 47%. (Ummm . . . this isn’t being “bad,” it’s being “lazy,” and it’s the number one way I cleaned my room as a kid. Just replace “under the bed” with “in the closet” and that was my go-to cleaning method.)

8.  Physically fighting with their siblings, 46%. (Physical aggression . . . OK, yes, this one should be on the list.)

9.  Blaming their sibling for something they did, 45%. (This would be called lying, and lies would count in the category of behaving badly.)

10.  Calling their sibling names, 45%.  (We’ll put this in the disrespectful category.)
