TDOT stops all lane closures during Labor Day weekend

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The Tennessee Department of Transportation announced there will be no lane closures on interstates or state highways during the Labor Day holiday. All lane closures will stop at noon on Friday and will continue until 6 a.m. Tuesday. “We know that thousands of motorists will be traveling Tennessee’s roadways during the Labor Day holiday,” said TDOT Commissioner John Schroer. “We want them to get to their destinations safely and without construction delays.” While lane closures will be stopped, workers will still be on-site in many construction zones. Drivers convicted of speeding in work zones where workers are present face a fine of $250 to $500, plus court fees.
