Suspect jumps counter to steal money from register at food mart

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Police are trying to identify a suspect involved in a strong-armed robbery that occurred Tuesday night at Quick Stop Food Mart, 531 N. Second Street. The suspect approached the counter around 9:48 p.m. to pay for an item, then jumped the counter and grabbed money out of the register while the clerk had the drawer open. The clerk began to struggle with the suspect and was able to recover the money. The suspect fled the scene. The suspect is described as a black male, 5’4″ tall, with black hair and brown eyes.
