Suspect dead, 8 hospitalized following active shooter situation on Ohio State campus

COLUMBUS – The Ohio State University police have issued an alert for an active shooter on the Columbus campus. According to the alert, the incident was believed to have happened at Watts Hall, near the intersection of 19th and College avenues at 10:01 a.m. At least seven people have been transported to three area hospitals, with at least one person in critical condition. Another suspect is believed to possibly be at large. Facebook has activated its safety check-in feature, so users can indicated that they are in a safe place. Gov. John Kasich has reportedly postponed a news conference that was planned to be held in the Columbus area today.
