Soldier sees daughter for first time at homecoming ceremony

Fort Campbell, KY. – (CLARKSVILLENOW) Family, friends and comrades welcomed home 90 soldiers early Wednesday morning from their nine-month deployment to Afghanistan. The soldiers are with Company B, 101st Aviation Regiment, “Archangels” with the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade.

One soldier, Specialist Grant Pinkham, saw his daughter Abigail for the first time at the Welcome Home Ceremony and talked about how it felt. “It’s hard to explain, it’s just a whole bunch of emotions wrapped into one. I’m just so happy to see her, that’s all I can say,” Pinkham said.

The unit is part of a stand-alone unmanned-aerial-systems company designed to deploy globally and support ground forces with aerial reconnaissance.
