It’s 2018, Why Do We Still Not Have Better Battery Life On Our Phones

Once upon a time, phones helped us connect with others via calls. Nowadays, making/receiving calls aren’t our top priorities for phones.

An annual survey from YouGov.com found what annoys us most about our phones is that our batteries are dying half way through the day. Now, it wasn’t an open ended survey, it was multiple choice.

Here are the Top Five wants from phone users:

  1. Longer battery life: 41%
  2. A shatterproof screen: 20%
  3. A better camera: 15%
  4. For the whole phone to be waterproof: 13% (who are these people that picked this? A lot of newer phones are waterproof now…)
  5. More hands-free technology: 5%

The reaming 6% chose the “none of the above” option, so clearly they had other wants/asks in mind, like maybe a “breathalyzer” or a “fold my laundry” app.
