The 2024 Solar Eclipse is an exciting celestial event that will be visible in various parts of the United States. Here are some details related to the eclipse and its connection to Lake Barkley:

Approximate Start Time: Around 2:00 PM
Location:
While the totality (complete coverage of the sun) will occur just north of the Kentucky Lakes area, the region around Lake Barkley will experience near totality1. So, if you’re in the area, you’ll get to witness a significant portion of the eclipse!
Barkley Regional Airport:
If you’re interested in watching the eclipse from a wide-open space, consider flying into Barkley Regional Airport in Paducah, KY. They’re welcoming visitors to witness the last total solar eclipse over Kentucky in our lifetime2.
No reservations are needed for the day of the eclipse; space will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. However, no tie-downs or hangar space will be provided.
