Scientists actually ran a study to figure out if women’s pants pockets were “compatible with modern smartphones.” Spoiler Alert: the answer is NO.
They analyzed 80 brands of women’s jeans (and 80 brands of men’s jeans) and found that ladies’ pockets are 48% shorter and 6.5% narrower than men’s.
Breaking it down, an iPhone X only fits about 40% into a women’s front pocket, and a Samsung Galaxy would only fit about 20%. The study found that men have it easier with their pockets being able to fit 100% of an iPhone X phone, and 95%of a Samsung.
Oh, and for the study, they used both men’s and women’s pant sizes with a 32 waist, so it’s not like one pair of pants was bigger than the other… just the pockets.
