Schools OPEN

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – The Clarksville-Montgomery County School System (CMCSS) may be forced to cancel school Wednesday due to lightning from Tuesday evening’s storm. The storm significantly impacted the school district’s main servers, which support bus transportation, PowerSchool, Food Services and phone service in critical areas, such as Central Office. “We are working throughout the night to try to get this situation corrected,” spokeswoman Elise Shelton said. Parents will receive an early morning call telling them whether systems are operational or not. If they are still down, school will be cancelled for the day. School System staff will receive a separate message tomorrow morning with instructions about reporting to work. A video posted by Manuel Pritzl on Facebook indicates a fire may have been started at Central Office due to a lightning strike. This information has not been confirmed by CMCSS.
