Save the bees, don’t steal the bees! It could mean jail time now!

Honeybees have never been more valuable!

Crucial to agricultural crops and producers of honey!  Beehives are now a lucrative target for thieves!

This is no petty crime! A new law makes it a felony to steal a beehive!

Fun fact, did you know the Federal Government considers bees to be livestock? Just like cows, pigs, chickens, sheep, etc.

Bee thefts are at an all-time high! Several hives have been stolen in middle Tennessee in recent years.

The new law which goes into effect TODAY, makes it a class C felony. That means, you get caught stealing a beehive, it’s a $10,000 fine and up to 15 years in prison.
