Man Found Duct Taped To Traffic Sign Had Lost Bet Police in Houston receive some unusual calls, but the one they received last Wednesday was among the most bizarre. People were reporting seeing a man duct taped to a yield sign at an intersection in North Houston. Upon arriving on the scene, officers found the man on the pole and a second man approaching him with a knife. They ordered the man to drop the knife with a threat of tasing him, and the man quickly complied. Upon questioning him, they found that he was actually coming to rescue the man on the pole, Miguel Chiavez, who had lost a bet he placed on the Houston Rockets/Golden State Warriors game. Police helped Chavez down from the police, probably with a few chuckles among them, and let him go with no charges being filed.
