Chances are, while you only use one phone, you probably have at least two old cell phones hanging around somewhere in your house.
You could sell the old tech junk that may be now thought of as a glorified paperweight or door stop . . . or you could repurpose that old phone.
Here are some repurposing options:
- Let your kids use it for video game (as long as it’s connected to WiFi).
- Use it as a TV remote with your Amazon Fire, Roku, etc (again, as long as it’s connected to WiFi).
- Load it up with e-books and get your reading on. This would be great for beach reads without worrying about getting sand all up in your “good phone.”
- Use it in a virtual reality headset without concern it’s burning through the battery for your current phone.Put it in your glovebox and designate it as a 911 phone.
- There’s a law in the U.S. that requires all phones to have the ability to call 911, even without a data plan. Just make sure to check the batter regularly and keep it charged.
