Rascal Flatts’ Jay DeMarcus is Teaching His Kids Southern Values

Rascal Flatts’ bassist Jay DeMarcus is all about raising his kids with the kind of core values you’ll find in the south.

As a parent, we tend to want to give our kids the world, but we also don’t want them to be spoiled.  So where’s the line drawn?

DeMarcus told People magazine that, “It’s about your core values, and your beliefs, and a way of life.  For me, being in the south there’s a wholesomeness to it that feels very safe.”  He continues, “It’s really important for me that they’re ingrained in a good church and have that good foundation to build upon.  I think that’s a core value system that you’ll find anywhere you go in the south.”

Jay’s wife Allison is also a stickler for manners, and she’ll be darned if her kids ever answer “yes” or “no” without following it up with “ma’am” or “sir.”
