Perks of Getting Older . . . and Going Gray

Getting older is great!  Don’t @ us . . . it’s not up for debate.

And here’s why . . .

Friends: “It’s 8 PM . . let’s go out!”

Us: “NO.”

Then end.

No explanation needed. Why are we not going out? Because it’s 8 friggin PM and we’re content to be at home. There’s no FOMO on our end.

“Golden Girls,” “Jeopardy,” “WKRP,” or “The Andy Griffith Show” on the DVR? CHECK.

According to a new survey, here are some other reasons getting older rocks:

1.  Retiring.  Which is happening later in life than it used to, unfortunately.

2.  Having more of a choice over how to spend your time.

3.  Being able to travel more.

4.  Spending more time with your family.

5.  Not caring what other people think. (We LOVE this one!)

The survey also looked at gray hair and the stigma it use to have, that just doesn’t exist anymore. For real, teens and twenty-somethings are spending big bucks to get that silver-fox look!

58% of Americans answered they really don’t mind going gray.

Fletch claims to have never found a gray hair on his head, though his facial hair started going a little gray almost a decade ago.

Jai started turning gray much earlier . . . like 13 years old early! Her friend noticed it and pulled it out of Jai’s head at her 13th birthday party, and then she’s pretty much been 99.9% since 27 years old.

How did you feel about going gray? Did you mind it? Did you go gray early? Tell us on Facebook!
