Parents Adopt Child, but Learn She Was an Adult

This. Is. Horrifying!

Like, legit out of a horror film . . .

A couple got into some trouble for allegedly abandoning their adopted daughter when they moved to Canada a few years back.

An Indiana couple, Kristine Barnett (45) and Michael Barnett (43), agreed to an emergency adoption in 2010 to take in a six year old girl named Natalia from the Ukraine.

However, in 2013, the couple moved to Canada and left Natalia behind.

Authorities finally tracked them down last week and placed the couple under arrest for neglect of a dependent.

Here’s the thing though . . .

The couple say they are NOT guilty of neglect and abandonment of a child because the person they brought into their home was in fact NOT A CHILD at all.

Turns out, Natalia was a 22 year old adult woman who was born with dwarfism, posing as a child!

Also, someone didn’t get the memo when they arrested the Barnetts because they had already gone to court to argue to legally have Natalia’s age changed, and witnesses testified the adopted daughter was in fact an adult.

But wait . . . it gets creepier . . .

The couple also say their adopted adult daughter indicated sociopathic tendencies when she straight up tried to poison Kristine, AND pushed her into an electric fence.

Natalia also once attacked a baby, and sometimes would just stand over people while they slept.  She was jumping out of moving cars. She was smearing blood on mirrors.

The fake-child-who’s-actually-an-adult was admitted to a psychiatric treatment facility, but left a few years back . . . and no one knows where she is.

By the way . . . if you’re not into scary movies, this is basically the scenario from the 2009 horror film “Orphan,” and we are NOT OK right now.

Check out Natalia’s photo HERE and HERE . . . if that is even her real name . . .
