Anyone who’s about to give a public speech will typically say their number one fear is public speaking . . . but, according to a new survey, that may not be the case at all.
The survey looked at 2,000 Americans and their fears, narrowing it down to the Top Ten most common fears:
- Snakes. 51% of us are afraid of them to some degree.
- Heights, 38%.
- The dentist, 23%.
- Confined spaces, a.k.a. claustrophobia, 21%.
- Needles, also 21%.
- Clowns, 18%.
- Public speaking, 17%.
- The dark, 15%.
- Flying, 14%.
- Birds, 5%.
