Our Friends

It’s summertime, and have you seen more snakes this year?  I saw this guy on my way home the other day and when I sent a pic to Ruthanna she was a little disappointed I didn’t bring it home. lol    Every year we have two black snakes that live at our house and if we don’t see them we get a bit concerned.  Yes we have them named and when we see them, we always make sure Moriah gets to see them too, even if that means grabbing their tail and temporarily preventing them from going behind some shrub or bush we have.  Now don’t get me wrong, copperheads, rattlesnakes, are not welcome around our house, but black snakes, even racers, yeah, they aren’t going to hurt anyone and they do a lot of good.  Small critters, like mice, don’t stand as chance with one of these little guys.  So, while your first thought would be to kill it, don’t be so quick, please.  Because most of the ones we see around, are just there doing their thing.
