Never Fear, the Perfect Christmas Song is Here

This story is so 2017…

A musicologist in Boston created an algorithm for the “perfect Christmas song.”

Dr. Joe Bennett, at the Boston Conservatory, decided he wanted to create the best Christmas song EVER, so he studied the tempo, vocals, lyrics, and musical key of hundreds of the top Christmas songs. He found it was really important to use systematic words like “Santa,” “Home,” “Peace,” and “Snow,” but the most important word to include was “Christmas.”

Using this info and his Christmas music making algorithm, Dr. Bennett created the song, “Love’s Not Just For Christmas,” or as Bennett calls it, “[the] happiest Christmas song ever.”

We listened to it this morning, and while it’s not horrible, we’re not quite in favor of adding it to our Christmas playlist. It sounds like a song you’d hear during the end credits of a Hallmark original Christmas movie.
