My New Favorite Flower

I have never liked dandelions.  Those little yellow weeds that come up in your yard each spring and take over.  You know they are just waiting until you mow that first time and then that’s the green light to pop up and show off.  And make those little seed lollipop looking things that’s taller than anything else in the yard.  Well I hated them until my little girl.  She’s three now and she loves dandelions.  She will pick those little yellow flowers and give them to me and mommy.  To watch her pick a little flower and look up at you and say “this is for you daddy” gets me every time.  And those little seed pod things, I can blow on a thousand of them now with her and that’s still not enough to wear her out of all the giggles she has seeing each little seed go floating off.  I know they are just going to make more dandelions, but you know what?  Right now to a daddy of a three year old, that means it’s making more giggles, so bring on the dandelions.  They are, at least for now, my favorite flower.
