Mr. Peanut is Dead . . . and the Internet is NOT OK

It’s true . . . it happened . . . Mr. Peanut has passed away.

The Estate of Mr. Peanut released a statement via Twitter that the beloved monocle wearing ‘spokesnut’ perished at the tender age of 104 years young after sacrificing himself to save his friends.

A funeral for Mr. Peanut will be held during the third quarter of the Super Bowl on February 2.

In a horrific turn of events, Mr. Peanut, along with friends Matt Walsh and Wesley Snipes, have an automobile incident that sends the trio off a cliff and holding onto a branch for dear life. Realizing the branch was about to break from the weight of the three, Mr. Peanut heroically saves his friends by sacrificing himself . . . letting go and plummeting to the ground where the Nutmobile had crashed, setting off a fiery explosion.

Fans and friends are celebrating the life of the beloved Mr. Peanut on Twitter with the hashtag #RIPeanut, along with dedication tweets.
