Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd Closer Thanks to Couples Therapy

Therapy is not a dirty word, and Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd agree.

This month the country couple will be celebrating their 1 year anniversary. While they are doing great now, there was a rough patch in their relationship over the summer while Maren was on tour with Niall Horan.

She shares, “It was probably the hardest part of our relationship. We went on our honeymoon, and then I immediately went on this gigantic international tour. I was gone more that I had ever been on any other tour.”

It was enough of a strain on the relationship that it pushed the newlyweds into couples counseling, with Maren emphasizing, “We’ve grown so much closer because we had to make hard decisions and have tough talks about what this future looks like and how we can make this better. “

She continues, “I’ve always loved him, but I feel like I like him in ways I never knew I could before.”

Plus, therapy has been beneficial in navigating and coping with her own mental health issues, too, because it gives Maren another outlet (other than writing songs) to “get out what [she’s] feeling. “
