Man accused of Robbing Scotty McCreery and his friends at Gun Point sentenced to 17 years in Prison

On Tuesday (6/28), the man accused of robbing Scotty McCreery and his friends at gunpoint in 2014 was sentenced to 17 years in prison. WRAL-TV reports that McCreery and other victims were in the Wake County courtroom as the judge sentenced 21-year-old Mikkail Jamal Shaw one day after he pleaded guilty to the charges. Shaw pleaded guilty to multiple counts of second-degree kidnapping and robbery with a dangerous weapon, as well as single counts of burglary and conspiracy to commit robbery. Shaw will also have to participate in mental health counseling and vocational training while he’s incarcerated.
