Local family’s decorations = WIN!

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – Clarksville’s Sugartree Subdivision can’t get enough of Mr. Bones and his little skeleton family. Residents of the neighborhood have been snapping pictures all month long at the home of Sarah Garcia. She and her six children have created a yard full of Halloween decorations that tell the story of their beloved skeleton. skeleton-decorations-10They began decorating on October 1 and have changed the scene in their yard daily since then. Mr. Bones has served as a Halloween decoration in the Garcia household for years, but this Halloween the kids decided he was lonely and needed a wife. Mr. Bones pulled his bride-to-be from the grave and began a whirlwind romance that included a proposal, wedding, and a honeymoon. These days the pair can be seen picnicking or enjoying a game of fetch with their skeleton dogs. Garcia said she is floored by the positive reaction she has received from her neighbors. “Normally it has its ups and downs like every other neighborhood, but I’m really surprised that this has brought everyone together with their love for it,” she said. “I never expected the neighborhood to get this involved in it.” Garcia has received many questions about the story of Mr. Bones, which she documents and plans through storyboards. Will Mr. and Mrs. Bones have kids? What will they do next? But Garcia doesn’t want to ruin the surprise before the month ends. “The neighbors will just have to come by and see.” Photos courtesy of Sarah Garcia and Torri Davis Belvin
