Helicopter parenting is soooo 2016. Now, it’s all about Lawnmower Parenting, and it might be even worse!
Simply hovering like a helicopter is not longer good enough . . .
Basically, lawnmower parenting is when parents will “mow down” any obstacle and/or person that may or may not be standing in the way of their kid having their best life possible.
The term was coined by a teacher who wrote an essay on how “Lawnmower parents go to whatever lengths necessary to prevent their child from having to face adversity, struggle, or failure.”
The lead example in the essay is a story about a parent who actually LEFT WORK EARLY because the school drinking fountains weren’t good enough and she really wanted bottled water. So Daddy delivered.
