During his show in Philadelphia over the weekend, Kenny Chesney gave an onstage shout-out to a police officer from a Philly suburb who had recently been shot seven times while in the line duty. The officer’s name is Christopher Dorman, 25, and he had planned on being at Chesney’s show that night before the unthinkable happened. Kenny had learned about Officer Dorman after he mentioned the singer in a video message from his hospital bed. “Hey Kenny, don’t forget me,” Officer Dorman said after thanking the police officers, paramedics and doctors who helped save his life. Chesney mentioned Dorman during the show, but mistakenly told the crowd that the police officer had passed away. “I was so caught up in the moment,” Chesney said after his set, “I think the emotions got the best of me – and I wasn’t as clear as I could’ve been.” Kenny then said, “The idea that a hero like that, with seven bullets in him, would even think about me… I heard about it right before I hit the stage, and it stopped me in my tracks.” https://www.facebook.com/6abc.ActionNews/posts/10153774428186378 https://twitter.com/FolcroftPD/status/747075297145655296
