It Takes Longer for Female Artists to Make it in Country According to RaeLynn

She may not have had any songs in the Top 10 on the radio, but if you’re a fan of Country music, chances are you know the name RAELYNN.

The country cutie had us all first noticing her when she was a contestant on The Voice, and we’ve been loving her fun personality ever since.

Recently, RaeLynn sat down with Pop Country, and the conversation quickly turned to advice for young female country artists trying to make it in the industry, especially in Nashville.

RaeLyn shared that the sad truth is females have to spend more time paying their dues than their male counterparts. To female artists trying to make it, RaeLynn says, “It’s going to take a little longer for you than probably the guy next to you, but with every great thing that takes more time, it’s always a little sweeter.”  Amen to that, sister!! (raised hands emoji)

She continues, “I wouldn’t change my path for anything.  I’ve been here for seven years and I’ve learned so much in those seven years. . . I’ve talked to many new artists . . . it’s ‘stick to what you believe in, stick to what makes you different,’ and really just get to know people for who they are and not for what you want.”

Keep an eye on this self-professed “Ratchet Redneck Baby” because her time to shine is still ahead of us, and this woman’s star is so bright!

Follow her on Instagram and see just one of many reasons why we love her so much. (Seriously, she and her friends got camo’d up to go hunt Zombies the other week.  Hey RaeLynn, can we be friends?)
