I don’t get it. I mean I really don’t. Why are kids today not in a hurry to get their drivers licence? I have talked to several of my friends what have teenagers about this and they have pretty much confirmed what i have heard. It’s not a big deal. WHAT!?! It’s not a big deal? I mean when I was 5 I wanted to drive. When I was about 7 or 8 dad started putting me up on his lap and hold the steering wheel. By the time I was 14 I was driving the truck in our driveway, if we needed it out somewhere around the garden, backed up to the barn, whatever, I was your man, or boy as the case was. But anyway, I wanted to drive. All my friends wanted to drive. We talked about what kind of vehicles we wanted. Manual or automatic. Truck or muscle car. We. Just. Wanted. To. Drive! So I don’t get it with kids today not thinking it’s a big deal. Man, it was freedom. Moriah is 3 and I have already had her behind the wheel of our truck and she loves it. I’m going to do everything I can to keep that passion alive. I want her to look at that licence and ask for the keys and have that same feeling I had the first time I was by myself, behind the wheel, the radio playing the music I wanted to hear, as loud as I wanted it, with the windows down and the road ahead.
