Is It Summer Yet?

I remember summer as a kid.  Mid May, I would already be in full, it’s summertime, mode.  And going to school  to make up those snow days from the winter seemed like it took forever.  Just give me summer!!!!!  Well, I’m a bit older now, but still I look forward to summer.  Now, it’s more with me anyways, when it get’s warmer, or, everything is fully leafed out.  Those things are my, it’s finally summer, triggers.  I read where most people don’t think of the calendar first day of summer as the start of summer.  Seems most adults, at least in some part, gauge it by warmer weather or by being able to do outside water activities.  I guess that’s more for me too.  After all believe it or not, where I grew up, back in the hills of Southwest Virginia, it was snowing there yesterday, May 13th, 2021.  It would have been hard to have the summertime feels in a winter coat, no mater what the calendar date said.  So bring on summer, and at least somewhat warmer weather.  Come on 2021!!
