Is Baseball coming to Clarksville?

Well, it must be true, right! Did anyone know about this?  We could be taking in baseball games on a summer evening rooting on the Whirlybirdz.
The Clarksville Whirlybirdz of the Ohio Valley League appeared to have released their logo.
If you’ve been to a Hoptown Hoppers game, this is the same thing. College kids honing in their skill.  Makes for GREAT baseball!!!  These kids have heart!

I’m looking at the logo right now…the logo is a baseball-shaped bird head, on top of the birds head, he’s wearing a propeller beanie with “Clarksville” more prominent than the club’s name right underneath the bird’s beak. The colors are navy blue and silver, with a yellow for the bird’s beak.

The Whirlybirdz will play home games at Rossview High School beginning June 3. They will join the Bowling Green Pistons (formerly the Franklin Duelers) as new franchises. The Ohio Valley League is a summer-collegiate loop that is entering its 12th season of operations with 12 league members.

Here’s to summers in Beaver Country watching baseball!

According to the OVL Website…The Ohio Valley League will have a 12thteam in our 12th Season.  We continue to grow into a larger and more competitive Summer collegiate baseball league.  The newest member of the Ohio Valley League will be the Clarksville, TN Whirlybirds.  The Whirlybirds will open League play on Thursday, 1 June, at the Full Count Rhythm in Hendersonville, TN.  Their first home game will be on Saturday, 3 June, against the Hoptown Hoppers at Rossview High School.
